Grants

In order to broaden the support of the Ventura Unified School District, VEP provides grants for teachers and staff. This enrichment grant program, which encourages the development of creative, educational projects that stimulate learning by students, has been one of the central functions of VEP since the partnership’s inception.

Each year, numerous teachers and staff from many schools and district programs submit short grant proposals which are reviewed and evaluated by a diverse group of volunteers from VEP, its partners, and the school community. Grants of up to $1,000 each are awarded twice a year for projects and activities that supplement core curricula in kindergarten through high school. In the last year, VEP has distributed more than $130,000 in grants, and we hope to increase that amount significantly in coming years with your help and the help of our partners.

There are two application periods each year — one in December and one in April. We are currently in the process of setting due dates and revising the application for the 2008/2009 school year. Please check back here in September for updated information.
